PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana 2.0 – PMKVY 2.0

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) was initiated in 2015 to promote skill development in the country by offering free short-duration skill training. It aimed to incentivize skill certification through monetary rewards, fostering both industry growth and youth employability.

The pilot phase in 2015-16 successfully trained 19.85 lakh candidates. Building upon this success, PMKVY 2016-20 was launched with expanded sectoral and geographical coverage, aligning with other government missions such as Make in India, Digital India, and Swachh Bharat. The scheme adheres to Common Cost Norms and has a budgetary outlay of Rs 12000 Crores.

• Enable and mobilize a large number of youths to undergo industry-designed, quality skill training, making them employable and helping them earn a livelihood.
• Increase the productivity of the existing workforce by aligning skill training with the actual needs of the country.

PMKVY 3.0 Overview

Decentralized Structure
